Save the Date!!

It promises to be another awesome, spectacular and FUN event!!

The IB Foundation is excited to announce that the proceeds from Sponsorships and the 2017 Annual Auction
will go directly to the purchase of laptops and related technology for student-use! The age of digital learning is upon us as technology continues to become an integral part of the interactive curriculum landscape. Access to laptop computers and tablets is necessary for all ...students to complete classroom assignments and Florida standardized assessments throughout the school year. Please help us reach our goal of supplying MPES with laptops that will be used for district mandated programs such as i-Ready instruction and performance diagnostics software, educational learning modules and Florida Standard Assessment exams. Become an IB Sponsor today!

Welcome Back!!

Here are some great tips for having a fabulous first week!
Share your own positive school memories with your child. Be upbeat and optimistic! Talk about your favorite teacher, the great friends you made and fun (but challenging!) assignments that left you feeling confident and empowered! Share times that made you giggle, laugh and smile!

We're all rushing in the morning and back-to-school season can make things even a bit more hectic. Try to remain as calm and peaceful as you can so your child feels as stress-free as possible. Take a moment out for a hug and encouraging word.

Plan something fun to do with your child after school! Maybe do a craft project, ride bikes together or bake your favorite cupcakes together. Knowing an enjoyable activity is planned will help your student get through the stresses of those first few school days!

To help make things easier for everyone, here is a terrific "School Night Checklist"
that will help both students and parents stay on task throughout the school year!

Continuum of Engagement

As we look forward to another exciting and enriching school year, the MPIBF would like to share this wonderful insight into the complex processes of a student as they learn.

By Barbara Bray and Kathleen McClaskey ~

The Continuum of Engagement provides the characteristics of a learner as they move from being passive about learning to being in the flow. How do we know learners are engaged? Step up the ladder to see how a learner moves from compliant to flow so you can picture what it looks and sounds like in a classroom when learners start engaging in the learning process.

Auction Catalog Preview!!

This
is the

So be SURE to

because it will be

Here are some great tips for being in peak form this Friday!!

1)    Bid early & often, don’t hold back!  Let everyone know that you are there to win & don’t let anyone out bid you!

 2)  Keep an eye on your items! There are people out there who will try to distract you from being the winning bidder.  They may try to engage you in some pleasant conversation while, behind your back, they send their spouse to out bid you. Don’t let this happen! Don't let their distraction drill be your downfall. Practice at home by staring at a fixed object sitting next to a practice bid sheet while your hubby, kids, dog, cat try to get your attention. Stay strong! Nod your head politely (as if you’re listening) all  the while never losing sight of the “fixed object” in the distance. Also practice saying a quick "Gotta go!" as you race over to the fixed object to put down a new bid. Practice will make you a force to be reckoned with at the auction! Other bidders will soon recognize your keen skills and realize you are a bidding powerhouse!!

3)  If there is something that you really want, keep bidding & stay close to the bid sheet. You may develop a somewhat feral and focused look in your eyes that your friends find a bit standoff-ish (this is to be expected). But! At the end of the evening, you'll be holding the prize that was lusted after in your arms as you walk proudly satisfied out the door.

4) Most importantly, don’t show any signs of weakness during the auction! Bid high and bid often! This is a competitive event! Show other bidders who's the boss! Show your dominance by getting that prize for yourself! Let the others Oooo and ahhh at your prowess! Victory shall be yours!

5) And let's not forget the HIGHLY COVETED

Energized? Ready to make your mark and assert your presence?
Ready to take on the competition?

Then start browsing the Auction Catalog and plan your strategy!!
